The $1.2 billion dollar Kirkland golf ball company may have been founded on a dream, but now the company is hoping to be a real-life hero by helping people save money.
In 2016, Kirkland announced it would be the first golf ball manufacturer in the U.S. to offer golf ball discounts for every player.
The company is now offering golf ball savings packages for all players for the first time.
“For the first few years, we weren’t really aware of the demand,” says Kirkland CEO Mark Kirkland.
“So we went in and just kind of built the business from the ground up to give people the best chance to play golf.”
The Kirkland Golf Ball Company is a private company, which means it has no corporate parent.
That means it can only offer discounts on golf balls for a certain number of players.
The Kirkland Ball company’s primary customer base is golfers, but it has partnerships with clubs and other recreational sports players as well.
Kirkland’s goal is to offer discounts to all players on golf ball prices.
“We know there’s an increasing number of people who want to play a little bit more golf than they used to,” says Kevin MacLeod, CEO of the Kirkland Sports Marketing and Marketing department.
“It’s just that they’re not playing with the same quality that they used a few years ago.”
Kirkland is offering discounts for the 2018 and 2019 Golf Ball Seasons, and the 2019-20 seasons are just the beginning.
“We’re seeing an increase in the number of new golfers coming into the game,” says MacLeod.
“I think the next year is going to be very exciting.
It’s a big year for golf ball, and we want to do everything we can to keep that up.”
Players who want the most out of their Kirkland ball are also taking advantage of Kirkland deals.
“They’re taking advantage, because they’re a huge part of the sport,” says Greg McElroy, a former professional golfer.
“You get to spend a lot of time with them.
You have your own little personalization of your game.””
I like to play with them,” says Mike Czajkowski, a 20-year-old student at the University of Georgia.
“The company has been awesome to me.
It keeps me going.”
Czajko is an avid golfer who also plays for a local club.
“If you play golf with Kirkland, you can’t go wrong with the ball,” he says.
“There’s a lot more options out there for you.”
Czech golf ball player Aleksandar Zavladovic says that while Kirkland offers discounts on most golf balls sold, there is a small amount that is still available at an inflated price.
“When you go to the Kirklands website, they are selling the 2018 season for $1K and the 2020 season for about $2K,” says Zavdovic.
“Then they have a discount for 2019 and 2020.
The other thing that’s interesting is that they don’t say anything about the price, but you get a discount if you play with Kirklands.”
In order to maximize the savings for players, Kirklands goal is not to take away from the real value that golfers bring to the table.
Kirklands aim is to make golf ball players as happy as possible, but at the same time, Kirklasts golf ball sales are still relatively low.
“The company is focused on making golf balls the best possible product and the best value,” says John Janssen, Kirklander’s VP of marketing.
“At the end of the day, we believe in a good product, and that’s what we’re all about.”
